PTA February Newsletter

With half-term behind us and the evenings slowly getting lighter, there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks—including some fantastic PTA events that we are excited to share with you!  This year we are fundraising to pay for new equipment for the playgrounds at both schools, so please get involved if you can!

QUIZ NIGHT

PTA Quiz night is this Friday- 28th Feb 19:30 at the Junior school. 

Tickets are almost sold out so be quick if you still need to get yours! https://www.polehamptonpta.org/shop

Tickets are £7 for entry and include a welcome drink.

SPRING CAKE SALES START NEXT WEEK  

Thank you to everyone who supported our Friday cake sales throughout the Autumn term. We raised an incredible £1,654 across the seven year groups! Back by popular demand the sales are set to resume after Feb half term so please get involved and support if you can. You can support by visiting the sales, donating cakes when it's your year group's week (home-made or shop bought is fine, but strictly no-nuts) and by supporting your class reps to help out on the stall if needed. Dates across both infant and junior schools are as follows (Please note year 6 has moved to 9th May.)

Friday 7th March- Year 2

Friday 14th March - Year 5

Friday 21st March - Year 1

Friday 28th March - Year 3

Friday 25th April - Blue Class

Friday 2nd May- Year 4

Friday 9th May- Year 6

 INFANT SCHOOL PANCAKE DAY FLIPATHON  

On Tuesday 4th March all infant school children are invited to take part in this year’s Pancake Day Flipathon!  Each child will be tasked with flipping a pancake as many times as they can in one minute to raise money for school. There will be prizes for children with the highest scores and for the most stylish flippers! 

Please look out for the sponsorship forms that will be sent home in school bags this week. Children can collect cash and return to school with the completed forms, or direct friends and family to sponsor them online here;

We will be recruiting parent volunteers to help out at the Flipathon very soon so please look out for sign up sheets on the WhatsApp groups.

Watch out for the return of our Junior sponsored event 1k Your Way on 8th May!

 DISCO SEASON! 

Infant school disco- 14th March

4:15-5:15pm- Reception and Year 1

5:30-6:30- Year 1 and Year 2 (Year 1 can choose)

Junior school disco- 21st March

6-7pm- Years 3&4

7:15-8:15pm -Years 5&6

Tickets will soon be on sale online and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as they are. But to run a safe and successful disco we need some willing volunteers! If you are able to help out on the night, or in the planning and set up of the disco before the night, please let your class rep know so they can pass on your details or contact

BAGS2SCHOOL RAISES £186!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Bags2school drive last month, and to Sam and Roxana for manning the collection point and loading the van! We will be running one more Bags2school collection on 7th May so please keep us in mind when you are having a clear out!

 UNIFORM SALE BIG HELP TO PARENTS

Many thanks to Gemma C for coordinating our uniform sale at the infant school last month, and to Gemma S, Ellen and Hannah for helping on the stall. Many parents told us how much they appreciate this service and we also raised £80 for school.

SUMMER FAIR

Our Summer Fair this year will be Saturday 21st June and is always a highlight of the PTA calendar so please save the date!

We’re on the lookout for someone to help organise this year’s Summer Fair! If you have event experience—or are keen to learn—we have a fantastic, experienced team to support you, plus volunteers already on board to help with the planning.
